Fast tract surgery, or being known as enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) has been implemented into a wide array of surgical specialities in the past two decades.
ERAS protocols refer to perioperative care pathways designed to reduce the physiologic stress of surgery and expedite postoperative recovery. In this lecture, I will summary the updates regarding ERAS in esophageal cancer surgery and also share our own institutional protocol for ERAS following esophagectomy.
